These easiest way to get here is by road, but you can also make the journey easily to St Davids using public transport. For directions from your starting location we recommend typing the postcode SA62 6PY in to GoogleMaps or your chosen route finder – be aware the postcode takes you to Pencarnen caravan site (next door), so please take the turning immediately prior to the one the route finder wants you to, signposted Treleddyn Farm
If you are travelling from southern England or London to the city of St Davids, the first part of your journey will be straightforward. Follow or join the M4 out of London all the way to junction 48, Pont Abraham Services (remember that the Severn Bridges linking England and Wales are tolled).
If you are travelling from the north of England or the Midlands you have a number of options. The easiest thing to do is to join the M5 [either using the M6 from Manchester/Liverpool, or the M1/A42/M42 from Leeds/Sheffield], and take the M50 at junction 8 [Strensham Services]. Follow the M50 to its end, when it becomes the A40, travelling through Ross and Monmouth. Then follow signs through to Newport on the A449 and join the M4.
At Junction 48, the M4 ends and becomes the A48. Follow it to Carmarthen when it joins the A40. Follow signs to St Clears and then Haverfordwest.
When you reach the first roundabout on the A40 in Haverfordwest, take the first exit marked (A487 to St Davids). At the next roundabout take the third exit (again marked for St Davids) and then at the next roundabout take the first exit. At the traffic lights, there is a Lidl supermarket, turn right here. There is another roundabout [take the first exit here], and then the final roundabout in Haverfordwest [take the second exit].
Once you are out the other side of Haverfordwest you will drive through Pelcomb Cross, Simpson Cross, Roch, Newgale, Pen y Cwm, Solva and Nine Wells.
When you get to St Davids follow the road ahead, going straight over the roundabout into the city centre.
As you pass the cross square on your right [there is a pharmacy on your left], take the road [Goat St.] to the left down the hill [signposted for Porth Clais and St Justinians]. You should pass ‘The Farmers Arms’ on your right after about 100 yards. After a further 150 yards you take a sharp right-hand turn which is signposted to ‘St Justinians’. At the bottom of this short road turn left towards St Justinian.
Follow this road past the ‘Bishop’s Palace’ and a car park on the left, the road will narrow to a single track for a short time, before widening again for a short time. Follow the sign post for St Justianians, and continue to drive until you will see a small stone cottage on your right. Immediately after this cottage take a right down the bridleway. Very soon after turning down here you will see a sign on the left for ‘Treleddyn Farm’. Make your way through the farm buildings until you see a farmhouse on the left with a white grouted roof. This is the Lower Treleddyn Farmhouse. The main entrance is at the rear of the property along with parking space for several cars.
It’s also possible to get to us using public transport. Haverfordwest and Fishguard train stations are only 25 minutes from St Davids. National Express coaches also serve Haverfordwest bus station.
You can take Richard Bros Bus Service 411 from either Haverfordwest Railway Station or Bus Station [it stops at both], which takes you to St Davids [outsides CK’s supermarket]. You’ll need to take a taxi then from St Davids to Treleddyn.
It’s about a 30-40 minute walk from Treleddyn back into the city of St Davids.
