Whether you want great scenery, adventurous activities or just a place to relax and unwind, Pembrokeshire has it all.
Perfectly situated between the sea and St Davids, our holiday cottages put you in an ideal position to walk to some of the most beautiful beaches in the UK, doted along the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. With Porthselau beach only five minutes away and with just a short walk along the coastal path to Whitesands Beach, our accommodation puts you in a great position to enjoy the best of our local beaches.
If you want to explore the other beaches that Pembrokeshire has to offer, they are just a short drive away. Pembrokeshire is rich in blue flag beaches, which, along with Devon, has more than any other county in the UK.
Given how close St Davids is to the coastal path, no wonder that people have been coming on walking holidays here for years! The Pembrokeshire section of the Wales Coastal Path runs the full 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire coast. From Poppit Sands in the north to Amroth in the south, the path takes in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the whole of the UK. If you were to walk the whole path you would walk through a total of 14 harbours and 58 beaches! As well as the coastal path there are also many other public footpaths. In total, Pembrokeshire has over 950 km (nearly 600 miles!) of public footpaths for you to explore, more than enough for a family holiday! To make things easier there is also a very reliable coastal bus service to help you get the most out of your day. For more information please ask us when you arrive.
Pembrokeshire is world famous for its outdoor activities. People come from all over the UK to enjoy the rock climbing, kayaking, sailing, surfing, rock pooling, kite surfing, beach games and our home-grown coasteering.
Coasteering was developed off the Pembrokeshire coastline in the mid 1980s by 2 local businessmen. If you would like to have a go at any of these activities, there are plenty of adventure centres based in St Davids and the local area, who will give you the equipment and tuition you needed to make the most out of the Pembrokeshire coastline.
We recommend you try TYF in based in the centre of St Davids and Preseli Venture outdoor centre based in Mathry.
How about taking in the coastline from a different perspective? Voyages of Discovery operate boat trips around Ramsey Island / Ynys Dewi, an RSPB reserve which lies a mile offshore and to the offshore islands further out. You will cross a whitewater spot called “the bitches,” which is a combination of a change in the sea floor level, rocks and tidal water. These offer a spot for extreme kayakers and exciting and amazing natural beauty for boat trippers.
These stretch into the Celtic Deep and the warm climate and nutrient rich waters provide sanctuary to a wide spectrum of wildlife. Such is the biodiversity that this area has been designated a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
The variety of wildlife you can see is spectacular, ranging from whales and dolphins, sea birds, rocks and gorges or simply awesome scenery that you would never see from land. Some local boat trips are boasting of being witness to passing pods of dolphins in excess of 200-strong.
During the summer season, you can land on Ramsey Island and explore.
If you’ve never tried horse riding or you’re a seasoned professional, why not try it in Pembrokeshire? With miles of sandy beaches, hundreds of miles of deserted bridleways and friendly, well equipped riding stables, there are few places that can match it.
The best place for riding locally is at the East Nolton Stables near Druidston. They offer riding for groups and individuals of all abilities throughout the year.
With the beautiful scenery and wide open spaces it should come as no surprise that there’s some great golf to be enjoyed here in Pembrokeshire.
There are three golf courses all within a short drive of Treleddyn. St David’s City Golf Course is the closest and offers 9 holes. There is also the Priskilly Course in Haverfordwest (also 9 holes) and Haverfordwest Golf Course which offers the full 18 holes.
Cottage holidays in Pembrokeshire don’t have to be about high energy activities. For those in need of a more restful day, Pembrokeshire has plenty to offer.
